Shannon Benish

Shannon is a lifetime resident of Dodge City. She has been in the financial services industry since 1997 and in 2019, she joined the United Capital Management family as a financial advisor.
Shannon earned the designation of Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ (FPQP™) and also holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66 security registrations. She is committed to developing long-term relationships with all of her clients. She was born and raised in southwest Kansas, and feels that her dedication to family and meaningful work are the result of her tight-knit family upbringing.
Shannon graduated from Dodge City Community College and Fort Hays State University. In 2011, she married John Benish and has three beautiful children, Erin, Evan, and Sydney. After her daughter Erin battled pediatric cancer in 2013, Shannon wrote the book “How to Help Someone with Cancer.” It was on the Amazon bestseller list and the book became a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards. Her passion is advocating for pediatric cancer patients and development of new treatment options.
Shannon’s first experience with the Depot Theater were the productions “A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas” and “The Miracle Worker.” She was in awe of both the talent on stage as well as behind the scenes to put on such productions. She likes serving on the Board of the Depot Theater to help bring in new people that have not yet experienced the theater and what it has to offer. She feels that there is a rich history in Dodge City and the Depot is one of many grand buildings that should be promoted to attract tourism as well. Shannon feels as though we have community support, and is honored to help in any way possible.
