In this performance at the Dodge City Depot Theater in the 2018-2019 season, two unlikely characters, Nick and Jenna, are thrown together as two angels in training sent back to earth to help Dave, who is having cold feet on his wedding day. But are they there to talk him into the wedding or out of it? The journey is hilarious, and the fact that not everyone can see or hear the angels adds to the comedic experience. Toss in an “angelic” New York cabbie as transportation from heaven, a domineering ex-wife who has remarried, but believes that Dave shouldn’t, and a kindly minister and you have an entertaining mixture of characters that muddles their way to a happy and moving ending.
